WHAT IS NETA?

The New England Translators' Association is a professional volunteer organization of translators and interpreters whose objectives are:

To advocate and promote the recognition of translating and interpreting as a profession
To protect and safeguard the interests of the professional translator and interpreter
To formulate and maintain standards of professional ethics, practice and competence
To provide meetings, seminars, conferences, an annual fair and other activities to promote collegiality, networking and cooperation among members

Membership Benefits include:

Listing in the Membership Directory
Receiving the newsletter
Grievance procedure
Listing on the Website (which will be put into effect in early 1998)

There is no prerequisite for membership. You need only have an interest in furthering the field of translation and interpretation.

If you wish to join, please fill out the questionnaire, include a check for $30 made out to the New England Translators Association (or NETA) and mail to:

NETA, P.O. Box 812904, Wellesley, MA 02484-0027

The membership year runs from September first to August 31st. Any check sent now will count for 1998-1999 membership.

We have occasional organizational meetings as well as informative lectures on the translating industry and translation roundtables. Most meetings are held at Boston College. Please e-mail Ken Kronenberg at: kkrone@tiac.net for more information about upcoming events.
